Bray Music Video Festival

‘The Waltz’ will be screened at the inaugral Bray Music Video Festival on Saturday 20th June. The festival showcases the best the Irish music video industry has to offer and is happening at the Mermaid Arts Centre in County Wicklow. Hurray! More details on the festival blog http://www.braymvf.com/

Mid Ulster Film Festival

The music video I created for Gentry Morris is being screened at the Mid Ulster Film Festival this weekend.  It will be screened in the same reel as ‘Rip and Preacher,’ a short film I’ve heard great things about and can’t wait to see.  It stars Gerard McSorley, who is launching the festival this year.

For full screening times download the festival programme at www.midulsterfilmfestival.com.

I was asked to create the intro for Beatnik TV’s Film Event at Hungry Pigeon 2009. A music video I made recently will be screened at the event too! Hungry Pigeon is Manchester’s biggest arts and music festival and there is a great line up of things to do and see and hear. Have a look at www.myspace.com/hungrypigeon for the full arts listings.

BAFTA Short Film Competition - Shortlisted!

An animation of mine was recently shortlisted for the final five films to represent Northern Ireland in the ‘BAFTA 60 Seconds’ Competition which I really wasn’t expecting!

You can watch my animation, along with the other four NI finalists, on BBC iPlayer here. Mine is the only animation included for this region.

Our films were broadcast on BBC One Northern Ireland and open to the public vote to decide which would represent Northern Ireland in the competition. Congratulations to Carol Moore who’s film ‘History Unfinished’ won the public vote and is off to the BAFTAs!

Prop Making

I have been making props for a production in the Alley Theatre for the past few months.  The play is a fairytale with exaggerated, oversized props. Here are a few things that I’ve been working on this week. Some are finished and some are not.

Some great visual imagery and a nice aesthetic to Hitchcock’s less seen movie ‘The Trouble with Harry.’
